Victims may always contact the Receiver, but the Receiver strongly encourages victims to contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office directly to share their opinion on Adams’s motion or any other matter for which the U.S. Attorney’s Office is responsible.
June 16, 2020 update:
Lamar Adams is serving a 19.5-year sentence in federal prison. On June 15, 2020, victims received a notice stating that Adams has asked for compassionate release. Adams’s motion currently is sealed. The Receiver is working to obtain a copy of the motion that she can share, and when she does she will post it here.
Victims should contact the U.S. Attorney’s Office directly to share their opinion on Adams’s release or on any other matter for which the U.S. Attorney’s Office is responsible. The notice that victims received includes contact information for persons in that office. If victims have questions, they may always contact the Receiver.
The Receiver will continue to provide information here as it becomes known.
